SAN FRANCISCO – May 5, 2015 – Zepp, a leader in sports technology, joined forces with some of the most-revered softball players and coaches in the country to develop tailored training content for the softball community. Zepp’s updated app, which now includes softball-specific features, harnesses the unmatched knowledge of two-time Olympian, Natasha Watley, US Olympic legend, Jennie Finch, and collegiate coaches Tim Walton (University of Florida), Heather Tarr (University of Washington), and Sue Enquist (former UCLA head coach).
“We recognized the need for additional softball support by listening to our users, and we’re committed to delivering a unique experience and a competitive edge to softball players and coaches everywhere,” says Jason Fass, CEO of Zepp. “We learned a lot from our partners through this process, and we’re excited to show you our updated Baseball-Softball sensor kit and training content.”
In the Zepp Baseball-Softball app, the user can now choose Softball as the primary sport and assign goals for both Fastpitch and Slowpitch. Players and coaches simply attach the Zepp sensor to the bottom of the softball bat and begin collecting swing data. In addition to the instant feedback, Softball users will receive Zepp Insights—weekly assessment reports with customized recommendations based on practice sessions.
“The Zepp sensor gives me both a visual and verbal way to communicate information about the swing. The data provided by the sensor is both simple and easy to use,” says Tarr.
Also in the app, players and coaches can access the Softball Training Center, which hosts a wealth of video content including tips and drills from the pros.
“Zepp allows you to take ownership of your own swing. For the very first time you get instant feedback with metrics, video and 3D that makes you better faster,” says Watley. “If you want to get to the next level then Zepp Your Swing.”
Zepp is committed to helping players improve and helping coaches take their players to the next level. Check out Zepp’s new Coaches Center for Baseball and Softball, a library of coaching content with tips and drills, challenges, and practice plans, which is now available – for free – at www.zepp.com.
