You know what? Sean Cusick may have been resident at Twilo and might act like he's the coolest thing since a drum machine but he sucks. Sure, he can mix. Sure, he can probably even hook up a sound system without any help. I bet he even knows how to burn a CD. But when it comes to the most important quality a DJ should have under his belt we find him wearing suspenders.

In Buenos Aires I had the privilege of checking out Crobar. There's a Crobar in Chicago, New York and Buenos Aires and they all have very impressive reputations. Buenos Aires's Crobar is the hot spot on Fridays so I went to check it out with two girl friends.

I could tell that it was the it place by the amount of space that was cordoned off by velvet ropes, the number of down-turned champagne bottles and the small percentage of people dancing. The entire place was packed except for the dance floor. I found this amusing but to each its own; it is only by catering to the people with a lot of money that this club can afford to pay international superstars their American dollar wage while the national currency is still trying to bounce back from the economic disaster that was 2001 2002.

After doing a round my friends and I found a nice little spot on the dance floor. Our position allowed me to survey Mr. Cusick while scoping out the dancing kings and queens. When we first started dancing the music was regular house, heavy on the bass and on the verge of progressive but not quite. People moved. No one chanted. About ten tracks in (the ride, by this point, had gone up and down but to no where significant) Cusick blasted the club with a very high-NRG track. Honestly, it sucked but you should have heard the screams that were emanating from the clubbers and the height they were jumping. It was insane. I leaned over to Gisela and I said, if he doesn't follow the beat he's an idiot.

And guess what? He's an idiot. He took right back down to some funky house. The kids were still dancing but whatever energy he had hydrated them all with instantaneously leaked right back out. We were back where we started. A few more boring tracks and his set finished.

Honestly, one of the most disappointing sets of my life. His lack of interest in the crowd was totally disrespectful and self-centred.
