Techno inside a Roman theatre

Positiv Festival is defined by Théâtre Antique d'Orange. The preserved Roman venue gives house and techno a monumental open-air setting, replacing the blank surfaces of a standard arena with stone architecture and visible history.

That contrast is the festival's clearest draw. Contemporary electronic production fills a site designed for performance centuries ago, making the room itself part of every set.

A focused August gathering

The completed 2026 edition ran from August 14 to 16. Three days allowed the programme to stay concentrated on electronic music without losing the scale expected from a major historic venue.

Positiv works best for listeners who want festival production in a place with a strong physical identity. The experience is less about wandering a huge temporary city and more about seeing how sound and light transform one exceptional stage.
