A city built for sound
Soundstorm approaches festival scale as urban design. Multiple districts and stages rise from the desert around Riyadh, giving the crowd landmarks and different musical zones inside a site intended to feel like a temporary city.
Electronic music at the centre
EDM, house and techno supply much of the event's drive, while hip-hop and global pop widen its reach. The production is deliberately enormous, but community and movement stop the grounds from becoming one distant spectacle. Soundstorm's identity comes from the tension between desert space, dense crowds and a new Saudi audience gathering around contemporary music.
