I was checking out the Soundcloud founders Blog and came across this interesting post about how he had two of the coolest New York based music startups–The Hype Machine and 8tracks–guest working at his office. Moot from 4chan snapped this great picture (we’re all trying hard to form the shape of the SoundCloud logo…)!
When I see 3 great services like this getting together and collaborating I can start to see how the future of the music business will work. It will be more open and sharing friendly, if you have learned anything from the success of Youtube than you will understand what is so good about how Soundcloud works. They will prosper while all the majors are fighting to hold onto their old ways. Sites like these give small independants the power to promote, sell, and distribute their music for free. I already use Hype Machine and Soundcloud on DJViBE and have been seeing great results. Keep an eye on these guys they will be the big dogs one day. It's a musical revolution folks, and it's happening right now!
