At an ILLENIUM show at Red Rocks earlier this month, more than 125 people left having been trained in overdose response. Not at a table by the gates. Inside the night they had already paid for.

That count comes from EDM Identity, reporting on End Overdose's August campaign to train 10,000 people in overdose response by August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day. EDM Sauce named Insomniac, Goldenvoice, AEG and ILLENIUM as the partners behind the push.

The promoters are the route

End Overdose is not running this next to the live industry. It is running it through the live industry. EDM Identity reports the nonprofit has been at more than 130 Insomniac events since 2022, EDC Las Vegas, Beyond Wonderland and HARD Summer among them. Goldenvoice took it into Coachella, Stagecoach and Portola. Breakaway has carried it across 33 events, training close to 15,000 people and handing out more than 20,000 doses of naloxone since 2024. TAO Group covers the hospitality rooms. EDM Identity puts the running totals across all of it at over 161,000 people trained and more than 227,500 naloxone doses distributed.

Those totals come out of staff training, activation space and supply, the same line items as barrier, water and medical.

"These partnerships show what becomes possible when festivals, venues and operators make overdose prevention part of how they care for their communities," End Overdose founder and CEO Theo Krzywicki told EDM Identity.

We watched a cousin of this at Tomorrowland this summer, when Weekend 2 lost its fireworks and kept its peak. The safety call got absorbed into the show design instead of subtracting from it.

Two limits worth stating. The partner list above is the one reporting names, not every promoter and not every show, and those totals are trade-reported rather than published by End Overdose as a campaign recap. The free online course, which covers recognizing an overdose, administering naloxone and supporting someone until emergency services arrive, sits on End Overdose's own site and stays open after August 31.
