On December 12th, Moby performed in Boston. After his show he went outside to sign autographs when a man, who seemed to be an autograph hunter, struck him in the head, breaking his glasses. Moby was also sprayed with Mace. In total, three men were involved in attacking Moby.



On his website he played the assault down by saying that the attack could have been a lot worse. As well, it seems that he is curious to know the motivation: "You could anonymously sign on to the boards and describe the attack from your perspective. i'm honestly very curious.



In other Moby news, about 1,000 entries were received for the directing competition. It is expected that a winner won't be announced 'til early 2003.
