The Love Parade is getting booted out of Berlin come 2006.
Unfortunately, a conflict has ensued because another organization would like to demonstrate during the same time period as Love Parade (usually mid-July). The authorities in Berlin and Love Parade organizers have come to an agreement that 2006 will be Love Parade's last year in Berlin.
The upcoming Love Parade (July 13, 2003) is estimated to draw about 750,000 revellers. This year's event had 45 floats and about 400,000 participants. Many well-known DJs were present, including DJ Hell, Felix da Housecat, Timo Maas, Paul van Dyk, and Sasha.
The Love Parade began in 1989 with a meager 150 kids dancing in a park. Since then it has grown to be a global affair, drawing hundreds of thousands (it peaked in 1999 with 1.5 million people), from all over the world. The Parade makes it's way from Tiergarten Park to the Victory Column and then it's a stationary party all night long.
