Alternative rock band IRATION is announcing plans to release their forthcoming full-length album later this year, with a new single set to debut in the coming months. The foursome has been working on new material since the release of their 2013 album Automatic, recording in both their hometown of Santa Barbara (Sound Design) and in Los Angeles (Eastwest Studio). They have gathered together a team of acclaimed collaborators for the new project including executive producer David “King David The Future” Manzoor (Lupe Fiasco, R Kelly, Lloyd), Grammy Award-nominated mixer Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, The Killers, Fleetwood Mac) and engineer Will Brierre (Imagine Dragons, Youngblood Hawk, Chris Isaak).
In other exciting news, IRATION kicked off the second leg of their national headlining tour dubbed “Tales From The Sea,” with a sold-out show last night (4/15) in Omaha, NE. The successful tour also sold out several dates in the first half including the Ogden Theater in Denver (1600 capacity), Showbox SODO in Seattle (1800 capacity) and drew over 2600 fans to their Oakland, CA Valentine’s Day show at the Fox Theater. The second series of dates will take the band to Minneapolis, Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New York, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Jacksonville, and more before wrapping May 6 in Charleston, SC. The Cleveland show this Saturday, April 18 at the House of Blues will stream live on Yahoo! that evening here.
Beyond their own headlining tour, IRATION will also make appearances at several music festivals this summer. Immediately following the “Tales From The Sea” run, they’ll perform at the Big Guava Festival May 8 in Tampa, FL, co-headline with Tribal Seeds Reggae on the Block May 9 in Orlando, FL, and co-headline alongside Slightly Stoopid the inaugural Blaze N Glory Festival May 15 in San Bernardino, CA. From there, they’ll make appearances at Hangout May 17 in Gulf Shores, AL, Cali Roots May 24 in Monterey, CA, headline the GoPro Mountain Games 5 in Vail, CO with G. Love and Special Sauce and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and co-headline alongside Matisyahu at the Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival June 27 in Lake Tahoe, CA. The band also has a headlining show at The Beach at Mandalay Bay July 17 in Las Vegas, NV before returning for their third summer performance at the OC Fair on July 18 in Costa Mesa, CA. Also this year, IRATION will make their debut at Outside Lands, taking place August 7-9 in San Francisco, CA, and additionally headline the Summer Meltdown Festival with STS9 and Tycho on August 6-9 in Darrington, WA. All tour dates are listed below and more high-profile appearances will be revealed soon.
IRATION–Micah Pueschel (vocals/guitar), Adam Taylor (bass), Joseph Dickens (drums), Cayson Peterson (keyboard/synth) and Joseph King (engineer)–is touring behind their third full-length album AUTOMATIC, which debuted at #1 on both the Billboard and iTunes Reggae Albums charts, as well as #7 on the iTunes Overall Albums chart, #75 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #17 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart upon its release summer 2013. AUTOMATIC has helped propel IRATION’s career to a new level, and the response from fans, critics and industry has been overwhelmingly positive.
The Hawaiian-bred, Santa Barbara, CA-based group has been touring nationally since 2008. Their extensive touring schedule has included several festival performances including Lollapalooza, Wakarusa, SXSW, California Roots Music & Arts Festival, McDowell Mountain Music Festival, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Sunset Strip Music Festival and more. IRATION has headlined several successful national club/theater tours with sold-out shows throughout the country from Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theater to St Petersburg’s Jannus Live, as well as performing on coast-to-coast amphitheater treks.
