DJ Tisto has yet another accolade to add to his resume, winning the award for "Best Club DJ" at the prestigious DanceStar Music Awards (London, England) just as he heads to the U.S. to begin the Area2 tour.
Tisto surpassed other nominees such as Paul Oakenfold, Fatboy Slim, Paul Van Dyk and more to claim the DanceStar award, further proving that Tisto has risen to the ranks of an international superstar DJ. Nominated several weeks ago, the winners were selected by the general public via various internet sites and music magazines.
Tisto';s notoriety has exploded in the past year, becoming one of today';s most renowned DJ and producer. Early this year, DJ Magazine ranked Tisto #6 in their "Top 100 DJs of 2001," (between Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox). Urb Magazine also held him in high regards, listing Tisto in this year';s issue of the "Next 100 Artists to Watch".
Check him out in his upcoming gig at the Commodore Ballroom on August 15th and at the Gorge Amphitheatre for Area 2 on August 16th.
