It seems that there won't be a third Brighton Beach come this summer.
Norman Cook has expressed that he would like to do the third instalment of his free event on Brighton beach but has stated that he wants the fate of the party to be decided by Brighton's citizens. Unfortunately, the Brighton council have said it is highly unlikely that the free party will be feasible as it attracted a tremendous amount of revellers and bad media (due to some accidents and an unrelated fatality).
Chris Holm, resort services manager for Brighton counci,l said in the report, "The impact of this year's event is still at the forefront of people's minds and it is generally felt that the summer of 2003 would be too soon to stage another large scale music spectacular on Brighton Beach."
Both the Brighton Council and Fat Boy Slim stated that the Brighton Beach event could only be a success if the party was scaled down to a fraction of the attendees of last year's so to ensure safety for all.
